This climbing shrub is a deciduous plant so during the dormant season autumn winter it will lose all its leaves shooting new growth in the spring.
Japanese Hydrangea Vine Iwa Garami
Schizophragma hydrangeoides var hydrangeoides Iwa Garami is a slow growing deciduous climber with rounded heart shaped glossy deep green leaves turning yellow in autumn. Produces dense flattened clusters of creamy white flowers surrounded by showy large sterile white petals in summer. Good for growing on walls, trees, pergolas or can be used as ground cover. Flowers are best in a sunny area but can be planted on a north facing wall. Plant in full sun or part shade conditions.
Eventual height up to 4.5 to 6 metres.
