This Hydrangea is a deciduous plant so during the dormant season autumn winter it will lose all its leaves shooting new growth in the spring.
Hydrangea serrata Daredevil is a fairly new serrata variety with dark almost black leaves turning a fiery red colour in autumn. Intense flat pink lace cap flowers on neutral and alkaline soils in summer from July to September. Purple flowers on acid soils. As the season continues into autumn flowers become a fiery red colour. Then keeping the deep dark fiery red colour on flowers and leaves throughout the autumn winter season. Good to use as dried flowers. A bushy deciduous shrub suitable for semi shade with morning sun only.
