This Hydrangea is a deciduous plant so during the dormant season autumn winter in will lose all its leaves shooting new growth in the spring.

Hydrangea quercifolia Applause is a deciduous shrub with mid green leaves turning bronze-red in autumn before falling. Produces creamy-white pointed cone shaped flowers in summer. Prefers a well drained humus rich soil in full sun to part shade conditions.
