This Hydrangea is a deciduous plant so during the dormant season autumn winter it will lose all its leaves shooting new growth in the spring.

Hydrangea macrophylla Ruby Red  is a beautiful compact repeat flowering red mop head with very dark green almost black leaves opening in spring. The mop head flowers open in summer a red gemstone like colour then fade to a deeper dusky rich red wine colour as the season continues into autumn.
