This Hydrangea is a deciduous plant so during the dormant season autumn winter it will lose all its leaves shooting new growth in the spring.
Hydrangea macrophylla Hot Red Blue is a compact bushy mop head with dark green leaves. The mop-head flowers open in summer red purple then turn to a dark red purple blue on acid soils. Flowers will open pink then turn to a dark pinkish red on neutral and alkaline soil. Good for using as cut flowers and for planting in pots and containers. Hardy. Part shade conditions.
