This Hydrangea is a deciduous plant so during the dormant season autumn winter it will lose all its leaves shooting new growth in the spring.

Hydrangea macrophylla Hot Red is a compact bushy mop head with dark green leaves. The mop-head flowers open in summer pink then turn to a dark pinkish red on neutral and alkaline soils. Flowers will open red purple blue in summer turning to dark red purple blue on acid soils. Good for using as cut flowers and for planting in pots and containers. Hardy. Part shade conditions.
