Hydrangea macrophylla
This Hydrangea is a deciduous plant so during the dormant season autumn winter it will lose all its leaves shooting new growth in the spring.
Hydrangea macrophylla Glowing Embers is a compact variety with glossy waxy green leaves usually with red tinted edges turning deep maroon in autumn before falling. Dense mop head flowers open a deep rich rose red in summer. In acid soil flowers will be a deep purple blue colour. Often has a second flush of flowers in late summer to early autumn. Best in part shade or full shade. This variety may tolerate full sun without scorching or fading both flowers and leaves. Suitable for smaller gardens.
Eventual height up to 1 - 1.2 metres.
