This Hydrangea is a deciduous plant so during the dormant season it will lose all its leaves shooting new growth in the spring.

Hydrangea macrophylla Deep Purple is a compact deciduous mop head hydrangea with glossy toothed ovate green leaves. During the summer it has large rounded balls of long lasting very deep dark purple flowers held on strong stems above the leaves. 

Eventual height and spread up to 1.5 metres.
